What is Semaglutide and Tirzepatide?
Semaglutide and Tirzepatide are innovative medications designed to help manage weight by regulating appetite and improving the body's ability to control blood sugar levels. They are the exact same compounds found in the name brand medications. They are sourced from a compounding pharmacy making them less expensive but equally as effective.
Are there BMI or Weight requirements?
No, the medications have been found to be a useful adjunct to a reduced calorie diet and increased physical activity for weight management in adults. However, it is considered off-label to use in persons with a BMI less than 30 Kg/m2 or 27 kg/m2 without a chronic weight related condition.
How are the medications administered?
The medications are a weekly injection that you can give to yourself at home. Injection training is available and can be provided.
Are there side effects?
Side effects are typically easily managed with OTC medications or dose adjustments. These may include nausea, vomiting, bloating, constipation or diarrhea. Adequate hydration is also required to prevent dehydration.

* Paid by patient through on-line portal, prescription sent directly to compounding pharmacy and medications shipped directly to patient on dry ice. Dose determined and adjusted by Dr. Krummen as needed
